We use our Training Skills to engage with the community.
One of my goals when opening my home to the community for training their dogs, was also to raise awareness for shelter dogs and rescue. The first year I opened I had my first raffle and raised $100.00. I thought that was such a huge amount but I wanted to do more. That I did, which the help of so many wonderful students and their dogs. Over the years we have raised and donated to many local shelters, Irish Setter Rescue, Aussie Rescue, Canine Cancer, Twin Lakes Dog Park, and more. Totals of over $150,000.00 and then we stopped counting. Not too bad if I say so myself.
I want to thank all of you for helping me reach that goal to help so many animals in need.

Chase Away k9 Cancer Pittsburgh 5K Walk, April 22, 2012 In Memory of Chase and ALL those we lost to cancer. A walk for the memory of Chase but ironically became in Memory of my Jersey. Thank you Ohkom Students Family and Friends. Your donations added up to $2,366.00. Grand total of the walk was over $26,000. Congrats to Mary Hummert and her amazing team that put the walk together.
